I’ve used vision spores for my home made koji. I would think the gem spores would be the same? My homemade koji is much closer to the sakeone koji. If you take out the koji a little late – mature, it looks more like the home grown gem koji.

I tried to make three batches of koji at one time when I tried vision koji-kin. I lost all three and had no more vision to experiment with. Vision is stark white while gem is yellow-green, maybe army green. I don’t know why this is; something in the processing or something more basic.
